Date Night -The San Francisco Opera

Our days without the need for a sitter are numbered, and our nights of living in the city could possible be dwindling as well so we're trying to do as much as we can before everything goes in a new direction. One of these things I thought I should be doing while living in the city is attend the Opera. So on a random Tuesday night, spurred by a Travelzoo half price deal, I got us tickets to see Carmen. Judging by the age of the crowd, this was an activity we could have held off on until we had grown grandchildren but the venue was beautiful and I was entertained through the first intermission. After that... I'm not going to lie... the pregnancy and the fact that really I don't like seeing or hearing people sing live (I'm a freak I know) got the best of me;  I fell asleep and made the mister take me home half way through the show. Even if I have no clue how it ended it was a good experience and something I can cross off the ole bucket list.
The venue...how many blue hairs do you spy?
The most flattering picture we took all night

Bump It Up

From left to right...Weeks 12, 14, 18 and 20

As I have crossed the half way point in my pregnancy (WOOOOWHOOOO), it seems that every day I am getting a little bit bigger. It's now funny for me to look at the first "bump" picture I took when I was 12 weeks when I was convinced I was "showing"...10 weeks later there is no comparison, or hiding that I have a little one in my belly. I was trying to take these every week but that hasn't panned out so well as me or the hubs seem to always be running late whenever I mean to take one...but this is what we have accumulated so far. Here I am (above) with my growing bo(d)y and (below) where I'm at right now(22+ weeks)...I'm/he's getting huge!

Storage Wars

Is it pretty? No. But it holds hella shoes and you can't see it when the closet door is closed

Our condo is literally one of my favorite places in this world. While I love it with all my heart, it's a bit challenging to fit everything we need within its walls. We do have a decent amount of square feet but 1 bedroom and no major closet or cabinet space leaves me always looking for a way to house more with less. If there is a space that I can fill with storage without the rest of the world knowing about it, I will. Here are some of the accessories that have added a teeny bit of extra space to our home.
This cheap addition makes a shelf where there isn't one
The Spice Stack! I love this thing!
Frees up shelf space, makes locating which knife I need quicker, and great self defense if I encounter a murderer

2012

My Ilee calendar (which I have bought the last 4 years) and our good luck Chonchito
Happy New Year everybody! We are a third done with the first month but better late than never. Assuming the world doesn't end, and you know what, even if it does, this year is poised to be my best one yet. Two of my oldest friends, as well as my brother and his long time girlfriend are getting married (I love weddings!) and of course my little SON will be making his arrival! That's right, we are having a baby boy, and have already started assembling a wardrobe to make him a mini-me of his father. Everytime I look at his little outfits I get SO EXCITED!!! And also, so emotional... getting teary eyed over little suede shoes, didn't think that would happen. Another thing I didnt think would happen...Beyonce stealing my baby name. I was going to use Blue as the little guy's middle name until Bey and Jay had to go use it for their girl. If Hillary Duff or Jessica Simpson end up using my new choice there will be hell to pay! Ok enough of my rambilings...I hope you all have plans and resolutions for a year to top all the others, and hopefully one of your plans is to keep reading this blog! Happy 2012!
